PIXIE WINE

 This is one of the Mary Maze fairy tales. I hope she will not mind if I post it. Unfortunately, I could not ask her. She's in the land of wonders for the moment. Hope she feels ok.

it was a freezing cold winter day. the mountains were all completely white with snow, & the ice was thick & shiny everywhere.
lady diamante-maze was out looking for things to polish. she couldn't polish the snow.....it just melted! but she was very good at polishing ice.....she made it gleam!! she wanted to show monsieur diamante how lovely the polished ice looked but he was climbing one of the mountains to look for frozen vegetables for soup.
as maria hopped & skipped along the icy foot-path, polishing & polishing away, she was suddenly amazed to see a group of strange little people before her. they were pixies!!
they were all staring at maria, & pointing excitedly at her polishing stick. they all wore the same style of clothing....little grey suits, with large green pointy hats. they were very thin, with pointy ears, pointy noses & pointy chins. they were the pointiest little people that maria had ever seen! ha!ha! everything about them was pointy!!
maria said hello to the pixies, & they all bowed before her. "greetings, lady diamante-maze! we've been searching for you all day!" said one of the pixies in a funny little squeaky voice. "we have need of your fantastic polishing skills!" he then went on to tell her what had happened......the pixies love to have really shiny heads, & they all spend hours every day rubbing & polishing each others heads until they shone like diamonds! but, one morning, they all woke up to find that their heads were no longer shiny & no amount of polishing would bring the shine back!! it was awful!! but a shiny fish told them about the lady diamante maze & her amazing polishing skills. "look at me!!" said the fish! lady diamante-maze would easily restore their heads to shininess!
" we'll share our pixie wine with you if you can polish our heads" said a pixie to maria. "oh!! that sounds lovely! remove your hats, little pixies!" replied lady maze. so, they all removed their hats....& guess what! they all had pointy heads!!
you should have seen maria polishing those heads! she polished & polished, until every pixie had a lovely shiny head! they were happy again, & they spent the rest of the afternoon & evening with maria, drinking delicious pixie-wine & dancing around the trees! poor monsieur diamante....all that pixie-wine & he missed it!!
